One of the most common emails we get is someone asking for a recommendation of a good Shopify theme designer. We post all these amazing looking stores here on pixelsoup so we surely know where to find these amazing designers right?
Well, wrong. In fact we have no idea. We know of the people who created the default store templates all of which you can view in the design section of the official shopify page but thats about it.
So lets hear it: We are looking for designers who are working on Shopify themes or want to work on Shopify themes. If this describes you or your agency then please send us an email and let us know!
Also, it should be noted that we are on constant look out for new Shopify themes. Some of the designers of our default themes are absolutely swamped with business coming from the exposure. If you are looking to break into the web design industry or if you are just looking for more interesting work for your agency design, you should consider submitting a Shopify theme. If we like it and decide to include your theme as one of our defaults, we will send you the latest iPod nano as a thank you.
i like to work days and weeks for this lovely ipod! i also would like to spend months of work for writing shopify extensions. all i want is another ipod! i am so crowdsourced!
That’s the spirit!
You go mog =)
Wordpress is a smashing success because there are tons of themes making it easier for non-techies to adopt. I hope to see that happening with Shopify!
I think I’m in the same boat as sly; I just can’t find the time! Maybe someday…
What would be nice is to also see components like a “contact form” or “newsletter manager” developed that are easy to include in shopify. Tools like this will allow for Shopify to become a more powerful marketing tool.
I was working hard on, and almost finished, a Shopify theme a few months ago – I abandoned it because of other work obligations and because of damn IE ruining my beautiful layout. Maybe I’ll pick it up again, seeing as I could definitely use the business…
