Google Analytics Integration

Shopify Team

7

We just deployed a small update which makes Google Analytics integration a lot simpler.

Gone are the days where you had to manually change your Shop layout. You can simply let Shopify know which account id to track and it will insert the right instrumentation on the right pages.

To enable the advanced E-Commerce tracking you still have to enable it in Google Analytics. Please refer to the Google Analytics Guide on our wiki .

If we implement things this way, do we need to strip out the GA code from our templates?

Yea you should remove your own instrumentation

Do you have a list of the page URLs that we can use for goals and the funnel?

Also, do you do the required work to have google analytics and google checkout integrated?

Hi Tobi,

Does this sort out the Google Adwords problem where the keywords don’t link to sales?

Obviously, not been able to tell which keywords generated the sale is a pain.

Keep up the good work.

Thanks,
Rachel.
