We’re pleased to announce the general availability of the new CRM feature. We’ve had it in beta for some shops, and we’re eager to get it out to everyone!
This feature allows you to manage your customers easily by allowing you to create customer groups, tag your customers, view customer purchasing history, and more. You’ll find a number of useful customer groups already in your shop to get you started, and creating your own is super easy.

You can search your customers based on criteria such as total money spent, number of orders placed, date of last order, country, etc. These filters are dynamic, so when a customer gets updated, the relevant customer groups will be automatically updated the next time you view them. Use these groups for building your custom mailing lists and for market research.

This is just the beginning of a bunch of great features that we’ll be adding in the very near future, so stay tuned!
We’ve started a wiki page that shows you how to build your own customer groups and to perform other useful tasks.
EXCELLENT! this will really help as we grow! Thanks guys – keep the treats coming!
Awesome! Great work guys…
What else you got up your sleeve, any teasers?
Just checked this out and definitely awesome news. It’s going to come in quite handy.
Wow. Shopify is single-handedly changing my mind about Canadians.
<3!!!
This is rad to the power of sick guys : )
This is great and I can’t wait to experience all of the new features!
One thing I would love with the CRM is to search by SKU. I sell publication subscriptions and my biggest challenge is being able to find what issue people subscribed from, and dispatching each issue to the correct people. If I could search by SKU I could search for orders starting from ISS_5 for instance.
If there was a way to fulfil repeat orders like subscrptions, that would be great too. Or at least a plugin that does this.
However if you could implement in the CRM a search by SKU I’d love you guys even more!
Thanks :)
Fantastic, this is exactly what I’m after. I always thought that custom mailing lists in Shopify was arguably one of it’s weak points – looks like that’s solved now though!

May I add – searching by the product and variation (eg. Subscribe / Issue 4) would be good.
Also I know I can tag each user, but it means I must go to the customer then the order, see what they bought, then back to the customer and tag them. Is there any quicker way?
Keep up the good work!
