Today we are launching a new series of videos that we think will be a huge help to new and old store owners alike. The Build A Business Series will feature in-depth interviews with successful Shopify store owners. We'll talk about how they set up their Shopify store, Apps they use, how they market their site and everything else.
While we try and bring you timely information about how to improve and build your online store, there's no better expert than someone that has done it themselves. Watch the blog for a new interview video to be posted each week.

In this first interview in the series, I sit down with Justin Winter of Diamond Candles. In under 9 months, Justin and his team have grown Diamond Candles into an e-Commerce power house with over 36,000 dedicated Facebook followers.
Diamond Candles sell eco-friendly, soy candles with a twist. Inside each candle is a ring that's worth between $10, $100, $1,000 or even $5,000.
I sat down with Justin last week to talk about how Diamond Candles went from idea to business to profitable. Along the way, we talk about manufacturing, designing for e-Commerce, building customers through social media and what Shopify Apps power Diamond Candles (among other things).
We hope you will enjoy this series. If you have any questions you'd like me to bring up with the store owners I interview, let me know in the comment section.
Speaking of videos, don't miss out on your opportunity for a 1-on-1 session with Gary Vaynerchuk. This could be a great boost to any company, check out our blog post for more info.
Well done! Do you expect 100,000 FB fans this time next year?
Nice job, Mike. If you ever see a good fit for some shopify customers to be interviewed on The Rise To The Top, let me know. Cheers!
David: Hopefully!
David #2: I’ll keep you in mind and will definitely pass some along.
If your name isn’t David, you’re still allowed to comment btw. ;)
Love this series! Very helpful and inspiring to hear about practical tips from other Shopify store owners. It would be very interested to hear them answer a question about what their biggest challenge has been as a store owner. Keep up the great work!
Thanks Nicole, I’ll include that question in future interviews.
Great interview!! Yes—agree with Nicole. I think a “your one biggest piece of advice to fellow store owners” type question would be really interesting too.
Thanks Mike and Justin. The interview was very helpful and the screencast behind the actual video call was great. It was good to see exactly what Justin was talking about (i.e., website, facebook, etc.).
