About the role
The Performance Marketing Manager will help us grow Shopify's merchant base by owning the strategy, operation, testing, analysis and optimization on paid marketing campaigns in India and Singapore. In this role you will be responsible for the setup, management, and execution of our paid acquisition campaigns such as SEM and display advertising on domestic channels. You will be working with team members from Growth, Commercial, Data, R&D, and UX, as well as external vendors and contractors to brainstorm new and innovative ways to drive traffic, improve results and ultimately grow our active merchant base. You will work closely with central paid teams in Shopify to localize and scale paid search, paid display and paid social channels in India and Singapore. You will also be responsible for identifying and scaling local paid channels in India and Singapore that will bring in new merchant segments.
Things you will do
Grow Shopify's active merchant base in India and Singapore through paid acquisition with a focus on major search engines (Google, Bing), social channels (FB, Instagram, Linkedin) and paid display channels.
Own operations initiatives behind paid marketing campaigns such as SEM and display, including budgeting, tracking, creative production, landing pages building, etc; including working with the central paid team on ensuring the aforementioned execution across paid channels
Continuously be on the lookout for new local paid channels in India and Singapore that can can unlock new merchant segment and acquisition opportunities
Analyze the impact and efficiency of campaigns across paid channels, continuously iterate / test / optimize / scale across channels
Design and execute copy, creative and landing page experiments to constantly improve lead acquisition and activation channel performance
Qualifications
4+ years hands-on experience of having run acquisition on SEM (Adwords), YouTube, Display, Facebook, Instagram and Linkedin in India and/or Singapore
Ability to work independently as a self-starter, with minimal supervision while being a responsible and enthusiastic team player in a results-driven marketing environment
Understanding of marketing campaign performance tracking, experience with analytics tools and data treatment, obsession with data, details, logical thinking and problem solving
Passionate about and ready to explore different paid marketing channels/formats, and to keep up-to-date with the digital ecosystem around the globe
A deep understanding of the eCommerce ecosystem in APAC, particularly India and Singapore : cross-border , D2C and dropshippers, and the paid marketing strategies it takes to unlock these merchant segments.
