As a key member of the growing transactions partnerships team, you’ll directly manage engagements with crossborder partners, advancing our product over the long term and helping create advantage for our merchants. You’ll become an expert on Shopify’s strategy, and align our goals with those of your partner. Partner Managers need to excel at cross-functional work, as you’ll interact heavily with product, engineering, design, finance, support, and marketing teams, and be able to create meaningful relationships with brand new partners quickly. You will be working on a variety of functions such as: product development, program management, operations, commercial and legal, engineering, business development, relationship management, partner enablement.
This is what you will be doing day to day:
Support the strategic objectives and interests of Shopify’s product teams on a global basis and further these objectives through partnership
Play an influential leading role in the development of Shopify’s cross-border native & app ecosystem partners including but not limited to partner evaluation and selection, API services development scope, partner qualification program development, and ongoing scoping and prioritization of services to support partners and merchants.
Serve as partner advocate inside Shopify to drive requirements and product direction hand-in-hand with product and engineering teams to meet Shopify and partners’ goals to successfully launch robust partner product platforms that serve many merchant segments.
Manages the integration of our strategic partners, as it relates to international shipping products and compliance.
Gather partner feedback and requests, evaluate and work with product and eng to prioritize as needed.
Contribute to growing the partnership over time by nurturing a long-term relationship, fostering a deep understanding of partner objectives and values, and being laser-focused on KPIs
Develop infrastructure, operational efficiencies and continuous improvement for various projects across multiple teams at Shopify, to make sure Shopify merchants have a coherent shipping experience, across all our Shipping products, particularly for cross-border compliance.
Work with partners to ideate on or explore product integrations and/or develop new business models, securing buy-in from cross-functional stakeholders and leadership, internally and externally
Negotiate deals with one or more strategic partners both locally and globally
Identify new partnership opportunities that have high potential to drive new merchants to Shopify
Lead discussion amongst cross functional teams within Shopify including Product, Engineering, Marketing, Support, Legal, and Finance to execute on various opportunities that impact the success of merchants
Owning a cross-functional program: Proven ability to build and shape a program in its infancy
Relationship management: You can interact with diverse technical and non-technical groups with the ability to hold people accountable
Growth mindset: You’re agile, resourceful, and willing to continuously challenge yourself to learn and grow.
Understanding blinds spots: Identifying and escalating risks across dozens of projects to Product & Commercial Leadership.
Ability to thrive in a constantly changing environment
A plus if logistics / supply chain industry knowledge
