About the role
Shopify helps 800,000+ businesses sell millions of products every year. That gives us a deep level of insight into what's hot and what's not, what sells and what doesn't and the best time to sell everything from shoes in Germany to bikes in the US. This is knowledge we want to pass onto our merchants to help them make data-driven decisions that will make them more successful. To do this we're building an analytics platform to scale data-informed recommendations to our merchants.
The UX design team creates tools that give even the most inexperienced entrepreneur the best chance to succeed. At the same time, we design solutions that help some of the world’s leading businesses manage enormous complexity. Making commerce better for everyone, no matter where they’re located or their level of experience, is our passion. It’s what we come to work every morning excited to tackle.
Our team is made up of over 400 designers, content strategists, researchers, and front-end developers across 5 offices. Although everyone at Shopify is responsible for building great experiences, the design team has a special role in building understanding and empathy for merchants. We believe in testing, iteration, and in giving people the room to experiment and grow.
For this role, you'll need:
- Experience with designing experiences for analytics products like reporting, dashboards or relevant data products.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with designing mobile experiences for either iOS or Android and responsive web. You have designed applications for native platforms and know how to collaborate with developers for these technologies.
It would be great if you have:
- Prototyping experience using dynamic content, for example using Framer to create prototypes that use data in the design.
- Experience with large scale design systems.
- Worked with a broad range of disciplines, from back end engineers to data scientists.
- Experience with building / designing data visualizations and information design.
