We’re looking for a Sr. Growth Lead, B2B to join our global marketing team. Reporting to the Director of Global Demand Generation and GTM, your goal will be to bring Shopify to more B2B merchants globally, while optimizing for an automated customer journey. In this role, you will be leading the strategy, build, and execution of the B2B self-service model. 

We’re looking for both a domain expert that lives and breathes growth marketing and an exceptional leader who can build high-performing, highly-experimental teams, invest in their team’s development and success, while also leading cross functional team members and gaining buy-in from executive stakeholders.

You will be the key person in developing a holistic strategy for acquiring new B2B merchants in new ways while also building on the relatively new self-service upgrades program, and influencing the optimization of marketing strategies for all our B2B segments. You are proficient in getting your hands into data, understanding customer journeys, user behaviour, and also translating this into actionable recommendations. 

We are growing into new segments and new international markets and this excites you. You have an understanding of and an appreciation for the nuances in local markets to be able to develop (in partnership with regional marketing) localised acquisition strategies to reach, surprise, and delight new audiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the B2B Shopify Plus Auto Upgrades and Self Service acquisition marketing strategy by partnering with the appropriate cross-functional partners including growth, data, UX, PMM, and demand generation.

  • Strong, proven leadership abilities in being able to build, lead, and manage a team of multi-discipline marketers.

  • Adapt the Shopify Plus digital experience for high value merchant segments and partner with Operations, RnD, and product to structure an automated customer acquisition journey.

  • Leverage CRM and performance data to tell a compelling user experience story, track conversion rates across the funnel, and make improvements to the website experience.

  • Evaluate regional merchant research, market conditions and competitor data to inform decisions.

  • Recommend and review new technologies and keep the business at the forefront of developments in acquisition marketing.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners including marketing, sales, and merchants.

  • Responsible for planning and budgetary control of self-serve acquisition marketing.

Qualifications

  • Rich integrated, B2B marketing experience, demonstrated through a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience acquiring and growing B2B clients

  • Ability to lead through ambiguity and in rapidly changing business environments and situations and effectively negotiating to gain resolution.

  • A desire to own and deliver on a number. You are used to being accountable for a target and know how to consistently deliver.

  • Ability to assess and implement successful and focused acquisition marketing plans.

  • The ability to zoom in and zoom out. Leading at Shopify requires the range to be deep in the weeds with your team, while also seeing and communicating the big picture to our exec team and stakeholders.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey business and technical concepts to both subject matter experts and non-technical professionals.

  • Experience in managing return on investment objectives. Ability to create marketing forecasts and manage budgets.

  • Understanding of CRM and digital platforms – Salesforce, Marketo, DMP, attribution modelling systems, Mode/Tableau/Wave, GA360, etc. 

  • Ability to report on campaign results to evaluate media performance and drive insights.

  • Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.

  • Experience evaluating digital creative and campaign landing pages.

  • A voracious appetite for leading and an infectious curiosity.
