About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our channels team within merchant services. Your goal is to drive Shopify’s growth through top marketing and sales channels across social, search and entertainment destinations. This means driving revenue growth for Shopify merchants across these channels by helping them promote and sell their products multi-channel and - most importantly - the value merchants get out of Shopify. You’ll own the strategy and execution, leading product and working closely with marketing, engineering, UX, and commercial teams to build and optimize across channels. 

In this role, you will be responsible for setting the product strategy for Shopify channels product across the largest social and entertainment destinations in the world, and executing on it. You will be responsible for inspiring and influencing a team of engineers, and UX designers to execute on your vision of growth. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Be accountable for building products that drive and optimize growth for Shopify’s Merchants via third party channels

  • Drive the product vision and strategy to help merchants discover the most effective marketing and sales channels to reach new buyers, and grow their business

  • Provide mentorship and leadership to your team as they execute on your vision for partnerships

  • Make it happen, by launching new product features to market, thereby driving value to Shopify’s merchants 

  • Hire the best people to grow your team as the needs of the business evolve.

  • Work effectively across internal and external stakeholders, including S/VPs of Product in external partner organisations, to deliver on shared objectives and KPIs

  • Create a culture of high-performance, creativity, and continual learning on your team

  • Collaborate across teams within Shopify to ensure that products are built for the long term

  • Using data to inform your product roadmap


This role can be based anywhere in Singapore, Japan and India, and will be working closely with our R&D teams in APAC and Canada. 

Qualifications

You will need to have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in product management roles at high-tech, fintech, payments, e-commerce or SaaS software companies

  • Technically strong and have built platforms and foundational products at scale to serve diverse customers, and have owned product life cycle from conception to launch to market fit.

  • Comfort diving deep into the data to understand opportunities to increase visibility and value for Shopify's merchants on partner platforms. 

  • An entrepreneurial mindset - you must be comfortable rolling up your sleeves, thriving in ambiguity, and getting the work done

  • Demonstrated success in building fintech or payments products at scale is a plus

  • A love of storytelling

  • A genuine excitement for solving merchant problems and a strong sense of empathy for the merchant and their buyers

  • Ability to define and prioritize initiatives while working cross-functionally, and managing complex stakeholder relationships

  • Experience collaborating with designers, developers, marketers, and customers in an agile environment

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work across multiple projects, align on goals, and deliverables
