Social Media Specialist - Plus

Shopify Plus helps power commerce for brands like, RedBull, GE, Herschel, Kanye West, Kylie Cosmetics, and many more. We believe large merchants should love their commerce platform and we work hard each day to make that happen.

We’re looking for someone to leverage Social to bring the Shopify Plus brand to life. Someone who’s excited to have a blank slate to work with, who’s a little bit cheeky, and can execute on the personality of Plus. This is about more than how many followers you have, you’re on mission to engage Plus’s diverse community. Are you up for the challenge?

Here's what you'll need to have:

  • Passion for your work and our Shopify Plus mission
  • A results-obsessed and highly analytical mindset, this is not about vanity metrics
  • A genuine interest in all things Social - always on on top of industry trends
  • Experience managing multiple social media accounts
  • Experience with Social advertising, optimizing campaigns for various objectives
  • A Growth Hacker mindset – excels at thinking outside the box, using Social channels in new and clever ways to educate, challenge, and solve complex problems
  • A good understanding of ecommerce as an industry
  • Effective copywriting skills
  • The ability to work cross-functionally with different teams
  • Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation, understanding that occasional evenings and weekends will be required

It'd be great if you also had experience with:

  • Marketing to B2B audiences, using Social to reach everyone from SMBs to large scale enterprise companies
  • Building an online community
  • Familiarity with Social customer service
  • Ability to create custom images, videos, and graphics an asset

You'll get to do things like:

  • Build the @ShopifyPlus personality across all channels: Twitter, Facebook, SnapChat, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest, etc.
  • Use Social primarily to develop deeper customer loyalty with our existing merchants
  • Use Social channels to listen, respond and proactively engage with the Plus community
  • Work with other internal groups to develop and implement Social strategies designed to meet their objectives
  • Develop, execute, measure and report on all social projects
  • Champion Social thought leadership across all of Shopify Plus, through insights, education and sharing your passion for the discipline

Here’s how to apply:

As the Social Media Specialist, you will be responsible for developing Shopify Plus’s personality over different Social platforms. In tandem with your standard CV, we’d also like to see how you would deliver an example of a product release, showcasing the Plus personality via LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. For this example, showcase how you would deliver the release of Frenzy, a Flash Sales app, made for popular product launches, flash sales, and special events. Here’s a recent article on the latest Yeezy drop using Frenzy to give you a better understanding.

- Follow @ShopifyPlus on LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook

- Curate a creative post for all 4 platforms, showcasing how they would differ via each platform

- Upload screen shots of all 4 posts and include them with your application
