Introduce your business and tell us your story: How did you decide on what to sell, and how did you source your products?
We began selling in local farmers markets and immediately realized the interest in our products clearly had national growth potential. We felt strongly the the Shopify platform was our avenue to a national marketplace. Our products are both sourced from their respective regions (the various raw salts) and our infused varieties are produced in-house.
How did you earn your first sales? Which channels are now generating the most traffic and sales for you?
Again, this was achieved at our first Farmers Market in Laguna Beach, CA. It's a toss-up between large retail accounts and our website. We see our website volume picking up rapidly and feel very encouraged to further focus on perfecting our presence.
Tell us about the back-end of your business. What tools and apps do you use to run your store? How do you handle shipping and fulfillment?
SHOPIFY! Aside from ShippingEasy we find Shopify to be satasfactory as-is. ShippingEasy to print postage. Fulfillment is handled from our warehouse.
What are your top recommendations for new store owners?
Jump right in. The support is there if needed. Once your vision is clear begin looking for a template that suits your needs and make it your own. It's really that simple. SEO is important and perhaps the most challenging for many, don't over look it and remember it's always a work in progress.
