[MUSIC PLAYING] Making the case for video as an advertising medium, it's so powerful. There's nothing more powerful than voice and cadence and pictures all together. It allows you to really engage with a prospect and tell a story in a more effective way than text ads. I want to give you some stats about video marketing today. There are over 8 billion video views per day on Facebook.
By 2022, 82% of global consumer internet traffic will be made up by video. That is 15 times higher than what it was in 2017. Social video generates 1,200% more shares than text and image combined. Video ads have an average of a 1.84 click-through rate, which is the highest of any digital ad format.
And most importantly for us, mobile video ad spend is predicted to be 72% of the total advertising spend this year. And, finally, and maybe most exciting of all, 64% of consumers will make a purchase after watching branded videos on a social platform. The cool thing about video is we're able to engage someone, tell a story, get in front of them all without ever asking them to leave the club of Facebook or Instagram.
We can have an initial point of contact where we're not tell him to go do something, we're just trying to get in front of them and start a conversation. It's a really beautiful form of advertising that wasn't available just a couple years ago. Now, the big question that comes up is, should I do video ads or image ads? Well, Facebook says you should use both. And we found that by including images in our video ad campaigns, we reach about 20% more people who just don't engage with video.
So you're going to have a small percentage of people who only click images. So we want to do those ads as well. Facebook statistic on this is that campaigns that have both video assets and image assets achieve a 17% higher conversion rate. So even though a small percentage of people will engage with the images, you still want them in there. So we're going to use both but with a strong focus on video because when we're talking about getting in front of new people who don't know about us yet, we want to use mainly videos because they're just more engaging and compelling.
