As your customer puts through their order, your work isn’t over yet! Shopify will handle the checkout process but making sure your customer’s experience is positive is something you can take control of. We’ll cover how you can create a customer experience that encourages repeat customers.

That said, you can still incorporate visual elements of your brand like your logo and color scheme into the Shopify checkout page. Keeping your brand cohesive throughout the customer's experience will make your business seem more credible and trustworthy. Although the transaction may end at the checkout, it's not the end of your customer's journey.

As well, acquiring a new customer generally costs about five times as much as keeping existing customers through retention and advocacy. Make sure your customers remember you. Advocate for them through automated order confirmation and shipping notifications to keep them in the loop.

Take the time to go through the entire customer journey by navigating from your homepage to the checkout. Doing this will help you understand how to create a positive experience for the retention and advocacy phases of the customer journey.
It's important to test orders on your site from time to time to proactively avoid hiccups preventing a customer from completing their purchase. You want these steps to be as frictionless as possible. Take note of the order confirmation page and the order confirmation emails to identify ways to integrate your branding and set expectations using these touch points. All of these steps will create a seamless and professional checkout experience for your customers.
