So maybe that's not like much more than how to check email on your iPhone. I get it. Email is boring. I mean, I can actually hear you doing the boring chant through this video right now. But stop. Just stop the chant. I'm here to tell you that email, boring old emails from your business to your subscribers, can do more to grow your business than any other marketing tactic.
Really. At worst, it will be in your top three marketing channels. At best, it will be your number one channel. Before I go into email, a little bit more about me. My name is Drew. And I eat and breathe e-commerce. That's right. I have subsisted until age 46 on a diet consisting entirely of cart checkouts, up sells, and Shopify migrations. I started my first business, Modern Design Retailer DesignPublic.com way back in 2002.
I grew that to a seven figure business and sold it in 2010. I helped to buy Karmaloop.com, a $100 million street-wear apparel retailer out of bankruptcy. We turned that company around and sold it a year and a half later. Today I'm the CEO of AutoAnything.com, a nine figure auto accessories retailer. I also run an agency, growthengines.io that specializes in growing direct consumer brands via email.
And I blog about e-commerce and marketing at NerdMarketing.com And you know what ties all these businesses together? At each of these businesses, email was or is critical to growth. Email works is literally my top takeaway after 20 years in online retail. And in this course, I want to dig into why I believe this is the case and pass on my top tips on how you should build out your own email marketing program that will drive profits.
