[MUSIC PLAYING] LOREN PADELFORD: Welcome to Hiring a Sales Team to Scale your Company. My name is Loren Padelford, I'm the vice president and general manager of Shopify Plus. I've spent a large portion of my career building and leading sales teams in a variety of industries all over the world. I've hired hundreds of salespeople in my career. I've hired rock stars and rocks, I've hired people I loved and people I've hated, I've read all the books, taken all the courses, and listened to all the experts.
And despite all of this, hiring sales people continues to be one of the hardest things entrepreneurs and I have to do. In this module I'll share with you how I started and built the Shopify Plus sales team from zero to over 50 sales reps and from 25 to over 2,500 customers and under three years. You'll learn how to think about salespeople, how to know when you're ready to hire a salesperson and the six critical attributes every great salesperson has and why I believe sales is a science not magic.
