[MUSIC PLAYING] The goal of this course is about helping you sell more product. Before we dive into the meat of the course, I would love to share with you the difference between branding and marketing. I find that entrepreneurs don't always get the distinction, and it's an important one. Marketing can get you sales in the short-term, branding is how you build the long-term sustainable sales. Your brand helps people remember you and keep coming back. Branding and marketing together will help you achieve long-term success.
Here's a story about why I'm so passionate about teaching both. I found that when I first started selling sauces and rubs, I was able to make sales locally. Then when I started to do events in different places, even in my own city, people had no idea who I was. They were like, who are you? I have never heard of you before. And I would respond with, I'm from right here. I do lots of events, and here are all the awards I've won.
But they still don't know who I was. And that's when I really just clicked that I need to do something outside of just marketing the product. I needed to build a brand so people would recognize my products no matter where they were. In this course, I'm going to show you the steps to create a brand the way I did it.
