Look below. Do you see the resemblance?
The image on the left is of the Drifter theme. Tikes Bikes customized that theme to make their store.
Store owner Tiffany Larson suggests “to purchase a theme and have a designer customize it. It’s an inexpensive way to get you up and running very quickly.”
Shopify is so flexible that you can tweak a theme and make it look and feel the way you want. Depending on your technical skills, you can make some changes yourself or, like Tiffany suggested, hire a designer.
How to make a theme your own
1. Getting a theme
Finding your perfect theme just got a lot easier since we opened the brand new Theme Store.
Browse through a collection of professionally designed themes specifically made for Shopify stores.
In addition to the many free themes, designers have been invited to offer their own
2. Selecting a designer
A designer that is already familiar with Shopify will be more efficient. You can find a list of such designers on our wiki.
You can also post your project on the Job Board and get quotes.
Don’t forget to announce your launch here! Remember tip #6 and sharing your successes and tricks with other storeowners on the community forum.
