SilentPocket was an existing company that didn't have an Ecommerce sales channel, so we chose to use Shopify as a platform to generate our online presence. The idea of SilentPocket and RF blocking cases for mobile devices was first started by my father in the late 90's and only became a reality in 2008 when the first products arrived.

Living in the bay area we worked with a manufacturer that had connections in Hong Kong, so we moved our production overseas to match volume demand.

How did you earn your first sales? Which channels are now generating the most traffic and sales for you?

Our first sales online came from organic search results. We implemented a great SEO plugin that optimized our site within the latest google algorithms. Now we see the best traction and conversions through our affiliate marketing sites that cover a wide range of topics that our products relate to. Privacy, Security, Identity, etc.

Tell us about the back-end of your business. What tools and apps do you use to run your store? How do you handle shipping and fulfillment?

We have integrated with Amazon FBA, which fulfills all of our domestic direct to consumer sales. For wholesale sales we process payments through Shopify, providing emailed receipts, invoices and packing slips along with every order we send out by hand.

Also with the integration of Quickbooks our shop backend financials are automatically there for the bookkeeper and CPA.

What are your top recommendations for new ecommerce entrepreneurs?

Get a template set up that you like initially, something that you can see having for some time and the rest is at your fingertips. Yes, there is pretty much an app or integration for everything. Shopify alleviates a lot of stress so business owners can focus on growth.
