BluMarble recycles over 15,000 wine, liquor & beer bottles each month from the Las Vegas strip. We then repurpose those products into drinking glasses, jewelry, cheese trays, lighting and much more. Our retail store is located in Downtown Las Vegas inside the Container Park.
Downtown Las Vegas is being completely revitalized from Tony Hsieh's Downtown Project. We are excited to be apart of it as it increases the awareness of our company who's mission is repurposing for a better world! Las Vegas needs it as we have the largest landfill in the U.S.!
How did you earn your first sales? Which channels are now generating the most traffic and sales for you?
Our first sales were generated on our iPad through Shopify in our retail store.
Tell us about the back-end of your business. What tools and apps do you use to run your store? How do you handle shipping and fulfillment?
We use Shopify for both our ecommerce site, as well as in-store POS system. We find that it's very easy to work with and it connects to Quickbooks pretty easily. We've had a few glitches here and there but the customer service team has been easy to work with and it's fixed quickly.
What are your top recommendations for new ecommerce entrepreneurs?
Make things as simple as possible. We started out thinking we needed numerous software programs to control our inventory, sales channels, POS, etc and you really don't need all of that. Use something easy and basic that syncs easily to one system and for us that is Quickbooks. We use Shopify as our front end software and QB as our back end. Cut out all of the middle pieces. Another biggie is to find a front end system that is user friendly and mobile!
