Hello! I am Wendy Krepak, Commercial Real Estate Professional, Wife, Mother and creator of Card Cubby products.
I also love to shop and save money! For years I was losing gift, discount, loyalty and frequent buyer cards. They were often at home or lost in the depth of my purse. I knew there had to be a better way so I designed an alphabetized system and was amazed at how easily it worked. My own mini filing cabinet to replace my wallet.
Often being asked by others, "Where did you get that?", I decided to patent and create the Card Cubby so others could enjoy the savings and ease of its use.
In 2010, the office that both my husband and I worked at closed and we were faced with no severance and the loss of six figure incomes. Refusing to fall victim to the recession and knowing the Card Cubby showed promise, we raided our 401k's and launched Card Cubby, LLC.
It is Card Cubby, LLC's mission to provide stylish, quality and money saving items to its customers. Our products can be purchased in over 1,300 retailers in the U.S. and Canada as well as online.
Card Cubby has been featured in People Magazine, O Magazine, Good Morning America, The Today Show, QVC and Fox 35.
Originally we were enticed into a magento website which was overbuilt, never worked correctly, expensive, and a monster that crashed everytime we went on national TV. I moved to shopify and am in heaven! The costs are much lower, I can easily manage it and make changes and we were on national TV not long ago and it worked perfectly! The magento site cost me an exorbitant amount of money and almost put me out of business!
How did you earn your first sales? Which channels are now generating the most traffic and sales for you?
Our first sales in 2009 came from an ad we placed in Real Simple Magazine. We currently use email marketing, Facebook, Pinterest and Google Ads.
Tell us about the back-end of your business. What tools and apps do you use to run your store? How do you handle shipping and fulfillment?
We use the shipworks app for our shipping, the abandoned cart app, product reviews, whish list and facebook.
