Fit Little Bride is a fitness apparel company started by Caydi Zerega and Alex Zerega, who've been in the wedding and fitness industries for most of their working lives.
As women in our mid-twenties, we have been a part of plenty of weddings, including the one that made us sisters. We've learned that when it comes to the wedding process, people want to commemorate the experience, and getting ready for their big day is almost just as important as the wedding itself. Fit Little Bride was born during a few creative nights spent dreaming up motivational sayings for brides who were "sweating for their weddings". Within its first operational month, Fit Little Bride's online store, powered by Shopify, was turning its first profits. By its third operational month, we were surpassing our end-of-year goals.
What are the key factors that have helped your store be successful?
Fit Little Bride found early success with social media marketing. In November, we launched our first Instagram post, and today we have over 21,000 active followers. We post multiple times per day, and we use a variety of images/captions to keep our audience engaged. We coined the hashtag #fitlittlebridefam, and we use it when re-posting pictures of our customers wearing their Fit Little Bride items. We also use this platform to post motivational sayings, diet and exercise tips, sales, promotions, new design releases, and updates about our growing brand.
What are your top recommendations for new store owners?
We highly recommend defining your brand first and foremost. Put into writing who your optimal customers are, and focus on their needs and interests. Discover what motivates them to purchase, what they like and who they want to be. If you design your storefront and products to meet all of these needs while staying true to your brand, your company will be the first thing they think of when they are ready to make a purchase.
