Reactiv began as an information and motivation website to help people get into shape and improve their health.
I'd always relied on sports supplements to help with my own fitness goals but I became frustrated by additives like artificial sweeteners and flavours etc. They didn't seem healthy and I felt that prices were too high. My belief is nutrition is best kept clean and pure, and it should be affordable. The conclusion I came to was that instead of shopping at the stores I'd make my own supplements. These natural products helped provide me a great nutritional foundation. My friends began telling me they wanted the same. In 2003 the time had come. Armed with my trusty iMac from a shoebox sized flat I began my mission to provide better supplement shopping.

The key factors that have helped Reactiv become successful have been to remain extremely flexible and adapt to market conditions quickly. I believe focusing online primarily is what has made this job a lot easier. It has also given me the ability to communicate information fast through incorporating social media, online advertising, and online affiliations.

My top recommendations for new store owners are to remain true to the unique personality of their businesses. This is what will make a business stand out. It's important to work out what it is that makes you stand apart, then communicate this message consistently. It's also important to not overcomplicate how products are produced and sold, this is why I love using Shopify. Shopify makes it easy to build a website that's simple to navigate and presents products and information simply, but attractively.
