StickItDog is a family run business. We have been making printed products since 1989, and have wanted to start selling online for a very long time.
We decided to make the leap this year and finally start selling our products using Shopify.com. We love making products that make people smile.
How did you earn your first sales? Which channels are now generating the most traffic and sales for you?
We earned our first sales, and continue to get our largest number of sales through social media.
We use our printing power to make vehicle decals which also generate some sales. We also utilize some advertising on Facebook and Google. By far our largest amount of traffic comes from social media and search engines.
Tell us about the back-end of your business. What tools and apps do you use to run your store? How do you handle shipping and fulfillment?
We use a lot of apps in Shopify to make our store the best it can be. We currently are using Shopify Product Review, Chimpified, Beetailer Social Widget, SumAll (to track data), Store Ya (to generate instant coupons), Quantity Breaks by Bold Apps (to Provide deals to customers who purchase more), Shopify Facebook Store (an incredibly simple and easy to use app that put our store on Facebook), Shopify Google Shopping (another incredibly simple and easy to use app that put our store into Google Shopping), Shopify Order Printer (which makes tracking paperwork in our office much easier), Propeller for Shops (which allowed us to instantly create our own iOS and Android apps), Coupon Pop, and Social Triggers (which automatically posts new products to our social networks).
It seems like a very extensive list, but each app makes the website and online business run smoother, cleaner and generates more sales.
What are your top recommendations for new ecommerce entrepreneurs?
Keep at it! Things will be slow at first, but as long as you are passionate about what you are selling, you will find your audience. Try out the tools in the App store, they will make your life easier!
