Just like with order confirmation emails, shipping notifications present a similar opportunity to engage customers and increase the likelihood they’ll return in the future.

In this lesson, learn what goes into the most effective shipping notifications.

[MUSIC PLAYING] After the order confirmation, the next email your customers will receive are shipping notifications. These notifications include the shipping confirmation when the order is fulfilled, shipping update when the fulfilled order's tracking number is updated, and then after-delivery and delivered notifications. All of these shipping notifications have a high engagement rate, so present more opportunities to make an awesome first impression and keep building your brand trust.
Like order notification emails, your shipping notifications should make it easy for customers to reach you in case they notice something's wrong. They should also get the customers excited to receive their purchase. Here's an example I love from Feals. Notice how the email conveys the essence of the Feals brand, but it's more engaging than a standard your-order-is-on-its-way email. You'll also see a prominent call-to-action for the customer to track their order.
This is something you want to include on your shipping notification templates. Details of the order are also repeated here for good measure. If you're sending shipping notifications through Shopify, then you can edit the templates in the same place as your order confirmation emails. Again, if you're using a third party email app, log in and review your template now.
