Congrats you got the visitors sign up for your list by completing the form. This is a huge step. This potential customer wants to hear from your brand. It's amazing. But now what. A few seconds after sign up are critical you just added a subscriber and they're still on your website. Taking the right actions now is going to help deliver a great customer experience.
And can make all the difference between the new subscriber making a purchase or not. There are really two ways of delivering and after sign up confirmation when someone completes a form first is the thank you message. A confirmation screen that loads and replaces the form the visitor just submitted. You also have an auto responder email an email that automatically sends out after the visitor submits the form.
I recommend setting up both and you can easily set these up inside your previous campaigns. The moment immediately after submitting the form is crucial. As a visitor I'm still on your site and just put in my information. I might be thinking did the form even work or if I was promised a coupon code. Where do I get that coupon. The last thing that you want to do is make the new subscriber think showing a thank you message immediately helps the visitor in a few ways.
First it keeps them on your website. You worked hard to bring the visitor here. Don't lose them after they just registered by telling them that the only way to get that code is to go check their email. Second, if you did promise a code now's the time to deliver. While they're on your site expecting the code and for the auto responder email even in instances where you show a thanking message immediately the visitor is still bound to leave at some point sending an auto responder email with a thank you message.
