If you're looking for a way to take your e-commerce start to the next level, you need to be asking for photo and video reviews and displaying them properly on your store. Now, the best way to get photo and video reviews is to ask for them. And while this may seem scary, just remember 86% of consumers are willing to leave a review for a business. So all you have to do is ask. Now let's go through the best way to ask for these photo and video reviews.
First, you should make sure that you send your email promptly. Second, you should make sure that you use killer review request subject lines. Third, you should give your customers guidance in the body of the email. Fourth, you should offer them great incentives like cashback loyalty points and discounts. Let's go through the first point, sending your email promptly.
First, you'll want to send your email or text message asking for your review after your consumer has received their product. If you don't use tracking on your shipping, but you know your product takes five business days to arrive, so your request to send on the sixth business day. Alternatively, if you use tracking, you can integrate your review request app to ask for review after a package has been delivered. Now let's talk about the second point using a killer review request subject line.
Most of us use email daily, but we don't open every email. To stand out from the crowd, use a killer subject line. I have 10 awesome subject lines that you can steal and I'll leave a link to all of them in the course notes. But here are a few things you should always consider when using a subject line or choosing the subject line. First, is urgency. So you can say something like review now and get 10% off today.
Second is to use personalization. So you can say, hey, Mary, how did you like your little lamb? Third, you can use incentivization. So you can say something like get $5 today and then dot, dot, dot. Fourth, it should be timely. So you can say something like, you just got a new pair of shoes, how do you feel about them? So you can say something like that in your subject line. Next, you should be giving people guidance in the body of the email.
If you are asking somebody to do an action, especially if you're asking for a video or a photo, you should be giving people guidance in the body of the email. So I usually tell people that they should take a selfie with their jewelry on. But you can say something like take a picture of your new plant in its favorite spot. Just make sure to give your customers enough guidance that they don't really have to think about what to do next.
Now that you know the best way to ask for a review, our next lesson we'll talk about the best way to incentivize for reviews and get a better response rate.
