At Shopify, we're building the future of commerce, and our Technical Services team makes it all happen. Based in Bellevue, Washington, you'll architect and maintain the internal systems that power our business. As our AV and Network Technician, you'll implement and support critical infrastructure—from network systems to AV equipment—across all Shopify spaces. Your work includes developing internal tools and integrating technology solutions that keep our operations running smoothly. Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine hardware checks and proactively respond to support requests.

• Provide training to ensure our teams are equipped to use systems effectively.

• Keep our systems running smoothly with regular updates and maintenance.

• Facilitate seamless onsite operations, including daily checks and special events.

• Regularly evaluate system performance and usability, implementing improvements based on feedback and trend analysis.

• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, enhancing efficiency.

• Offer exceptional support to end users both in person and remotely via tools like Slack.

• Create clear, comprehensive documentation for AV and Network solutions to empower our teams.

Qualifications:

• Familiarity with industry standards, leading manufacturers, and emerging technologies.

• Strong expertise in video streaming technologies and signal flows.

• Proven track record in webcasting and livestreaming, including RTMP protocols.

• In-depth understanding of network protocols, services, standards, and their functionalities.

• Hands-on experience with networking protocols from Layer 1 to Layer 7.

• Proficient with tools like Google Workspace to enhance collaboration and productivity.

• Knowledge of Ubiquiti is a plus.

• Willingness to travel to other Shopify spaces in North America and abroad as needed (10% of the time).

• Participate in an on-call rotation (every 6 weeks).

• Skilled in working both on-site and remotely.

Compensation and Benefits:

• The estimated compensation range for this role is $75,900 to $154,300 which includes salary and equity. Pay is based on several factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

• Depending on the position offered, other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, 401K plan, and other benefits.
