How to set up your WisePad 3
Pairing and Connecting the WisePad 3 Card Reader to Your POS Device:
To utilize the WisePad 3 card reader with Shopify POS, you must pair the reader with your device through Shopify POS. Once paired, the reader will automatically connect to the device whenever both are powered on and within range.
Steps:
1. Press and release the power button to activate the reader.
2. In Shopify POS, navigate to ≡ > Settings > Set up hardware.
3. Select Card reader.
4. On the Select Reader page, choose WisePad 3.
5. Under Available card readers, tap Connect next to the WisePad 3 reader.
Accepting Payments with the WisePad 3 Card Reader:
The WisePad 3 card reader allows you to accept chip and PIN or contactless tap payments.
For contactless payments, there may be limits on purchases based on the payment type or your business's location. If necessary, customers can insert their card and enter their PIN for transactions exceeding the tap limit.
Steps:
1. In Shopify POS, tap Checkout. If the WisePad 3 card reader is connected and ready, a Tap or insert card option will appear.
2. Allow the customer to tap or insert their card with the chip facing up towards the Shopify logo. Once the transaction is successful, the customer can remove their card.
3. Choose whether to provide a receipt and select the delivery method.
