Back in 2009, NOVO watch was nothing more than some drawings and an idea. Practicing action sports in the summer and winter, we were frustrated that we couldn't get our hands on a timepiece that symbolized that aspect of our life.
Why did it seem that no matter how unique or intriguing a watch looked at first, it felt like everyone ended up wearing the same thing? We were looking for something different, and realized that we were looking for more than a watch - something to remind us of the exhilaration felt from pushing a sport to the limits and something to remind us to let that passion push the rest of our life to the next level. It was with this epiphany that ideas and drawings started to flow and momentum started to build.
These ideas and drawings turned into plans and prototypes. Two years of meticulous attention to detail (and a plethora of powder days) later, NOVO watch became the company you see here today. Along the way we've picked up a collection of athletes, artists, friends and characters who enjoy life for the same reasons NOVO watch was created. The watches we make inspire us daily with memories of those times in life that raise the hairs on the back of our necks. They are a symbol of the moments in time we killed it and a reminder of the need to do it again.
NOVO watch is more than just a company, it's what defines us.
How did you earn your first sales? Which channels are now generating the most traffic and sales for you?
We launched and sent out an email. We were shocked when friends and family and others we didn't know (but signed up for our newsletter) bought that day! We even had friends who knew we were launching waiting outside my house waiting for the email and to come in and buy. It was crazy!
Currently we work online, with retailers (Brick & mortar + Online) and flash sale sites. All these channels have helped us grow and gain visibility.
Tell us about the back-end of your business. What tools and apps do you use to run your store? How do you handle shipping and fulfillment?
We use Shopify for everything web. Square is for trade shows & other local purchases. Freshbooks is our invoicing program. Netparcel helps us with shipping all over the world as well as importing goods.
