In fact, the unique design for the company’s hammock grew out of an idea for alternative bedding to help people in malaria-stricken countries. Kammok is a 1% For the Planet member, B-Corp certified, and is partnered with Malaria No More by donating 5 life saving treatments to children in Africa through specific product sales to help end deaths from the disease in Africa by 2015.

How did you earn your first sales? Which channels are now generating the most traffic and sales for you?

Through Kickstarter! We have kickstarted our first three major product offerings to incredible success. Outside of selling to Outdoor retailers our web store is doing amazing, just like our first Kickstarter campaign (at the time the 10th largest) we love to sit and track our sales every day on the Shopify dashboard.

Tell us about the back-end of your business. What tools and apps do you use to run your store? How do you handle shipping and fulfillment?

We use a bunch of apps in our store! From Chimpified, YOTPO, SumAll, a lot of Bold Apps products and maybe our favorite Robin for customer service. Robin has been absolutely amazing to work with, we love their team!

What are your top recommendations for new ecommerce entrepreneurs?

Get creative and think out of the box! Don't just settle on a look and feel, research, experiment and figure out the exact visual story that represents your brand or business and go create it.
