Just like one ordinary strand of thread can make an extraordinary product; we believe ordinary people can do extraordinary things-you are living proof. Founders Lauren and Erica are a passionate pair that mix fashion with philanthropy. With more than 7 years spent in Guatemala working with non-profit organizations, we want to do more than just sell products; we want to create a change.
We have traveled back to bring fashion-forward items to market. These unique items mix ancient techniques with modern style that will set you apart from the rest. More importantly, we want you to take part in our philanthropic mission by selecting from one of our three amazing projects: Infant and Child Nutrition, Education, and Microfinance for Women. A portion of your purchase will go to support one of these projects and will not only change you, but change the future of someone in need.
Being women and mothers helps fuel our passion for not only the cause, but also helps us truly understand our customers and create products that resonate. We are constantly inspired by our customers and feed off of their excitement from our products and projects; it helps keep us motivated to continue to do what we do.
How did you earn your first sales? Which channels are now generating the most traffic and sales for you?
We earned our first sales through instagram and we continue to generate traffic and sales through collaborations through instagram and bloggers as well as pinterest and organic searches.
Tell us about the back-end of your business. What tools and apps do you use to run your store? How do you handle shipping and fulfillment?
Right now we just use shopify and shipstation to populate all our orders. We have our own warehouse (aka garage) where we pick the orders ourselves and ship them out. We're constantly looking for new tools to help our growing business.
What are your top recommendations for new ecommerce entrepreneurs?
Be passionate about your product. People know authenticity when the see it-if you're passionate it will read through.
Secondly, know what you don't know and get the right help. It's a lot of work, so surround yourself with the right people. Lastly, really understand how you plan to grow-think of the end goal. If you were to get thousands of orders tomorrow, how would you handle it? Answer those questions before you start. Take a chance, be bold-it's fun!
