Last week we hosted our fourth annual partner and developer conference, Shopify Unite. Thousands of partners and developers from around the world joined us in Toronto for three days of product launches and inspirational talks to explore Shopify’s roadmap and the opportunity ahead.

Day one keynotes

Day one was full of exciting product launches. Give the keynotes a watch below.

Online Store: Core—Cynthia Savard Saucier

Cynthia Savard Saucier, Director of UX Channels at Shopify, introduces exciting new changes to the online store design experience, with sections on every page, native video and 3D support, and checkout app extensions coming soon.

Online Store: Advanced—David Mollenkamp

David Mollenkamp, Director of Product at Shopify, introduces updates to custom storefront tools, and announces exciting changes that make it easier for Shopify merchants to run international businesses.

Shopify POS—Arpan Podduturi

Arpan Podduturi, Director of Product at Shopify, takes us through a preview of the new Shopify POS and how we’re reimagining the retail experience in order to create better customer experiences, including the new POS cart app extensions for loyalty and promotions.

Backoffice—Lynsey Thornton

Lynsey Thornton, Vice President of UX and Core Product at Shopify, introduces upcoming changes that will allow Shopify Partners to better help merchants manage and optimize their business operations. Lynsey announces three new APIs: the Fulfillment API (beta), the Delivery Profiles API, and the Order Editing APIs, so you can spend less time building workarounds and more time creating value for your clients. Lynsey also announces new languages available for the Shopify Admin and Partner Dashboard.

Shopify Plus—Katie Cerar

Katie Cerar, Product Lead at Shopify Plus, walks us through the exciting announcement of the all-new Shopify Plus that will be available later this year. The new Shopify Plus will enable large, complex businesses to manage multiple stores, users, automation, and more in one place.

Developer products—Vanessa Lee

Vanessa Lee, Director of Product at Shopify, introduces five products that will help make Shopify developers more powerful. This includes Libraries for GraphQL, the update to Shopify App Bridge, Shopify App CLI, and API versioning.

Shopify Fulfillment Network—Craig Miller

Craig Miller, Chief Product Officer at Shopify, introduces the Shopify Fulfillment Network, a geographically dispersed network of fulfillment centers with smart inventory-allocation technology. Powered by machine learning that predicts the closest fulfillment centers and optimal inventory quantities per location, merchants will soon be able to ensure fast, low-cost delivery to their buyers.

Closing keynote: The Opportunity Ahead—Harley Finkelstein

Harley Finkelstein, Chief Operating Officer at Shopify, recaps the effect of the partner ecosystem on Shopify. He invites partners on a journey to power the world’s entrepreneurs— promising the opportunity ahead has never been bigger.

AMA with Tobi Lütke

How has Tobi dealt with the evolution of his role from coder and snowboard salesman, to CEO of Shopify? What really happened between MailChimp and Shopify? What does Tobi predict the future of commerce will look like? These are some of the questions you’ll hear in this AMA with Tobi Lutke, CEO at Shopify, hosted by Cara Hogan, Content Strategist at Zaius.
