Rains sold its first waterproof poncho in 2012. It didn’t need a complex solution when it was selling just one style of raincoat on its website ten years ago. So, Shopify became the perfect tool. And it’s stayed that way as the brand has scaled, upgraded to Shopify Plus and expanded globally through International Stores.
Since then, the Danish clothing and lifestyle brand has been kitting out urban explorers – from Portland to Shanghai and everywhere in between – in its signature neo-Scandinavian aesthetic. Shopify’s easy integration capabilities, from social commerce platforms to third-party marketplaces, has also made a splash: Rains now sells its Nordic-native collections to customers across four continents, all connected to a single store. It anticipates soon enabling headless commerce on Shopify – further increasing scalability while saving resources.
We can take a data-driven approach, view market trends and activate external channels, alongside our own ecommerce, thanks to Shopify. It means we’ve been able to quickly expand in the US, Spain and Sweden – it’s so easy to implement.
