App Credit Promotion

The App Credit Promotion (“Promotion”) allows you to earn promotional credits towards app transactions on the Shopify App Store (“App Credits”).

To participate, you must agree to these terms, which become part of the Shopify Merchant Terms of Service Shopify Merchant Terms of Service (the “Shopify TOS”). Capitalized terms not defined here have the same meaning given to them in the Shopify TOS.

How to Earn App Credits

  • Merchants may be offered the opportunity to receive App Credit totalling €100 or ¥15,000 app store credit, depending on your region. You may earn App Credits if: (a) you have been invited to participate in the Promotion through the Shopify website, (b) you complete the required action as specified in the invitation, (c) you successfully pay for one billing cycle for an Eligible Plan within 30 days from creating your store, (d) your store is located in the Germany, Japan, France, or Italy, and (e) and the Store is compliance with the Shopify TOS (altogether, the “Earning Criteria”).
  • “Eligible Plan” means the Shopify Basic, Shopify, Advanced, or Retail plan. If you change your plan to one that is not eligible the Promotion will no longer be valid.
  • Activities completed before you are invited to participate are not eligible to earn Promotional Credit. You must successfully complete the Earning Criteria while the Promotion is active.
  • You may earn a maximum of 1 Promotional Credit per Store, up to 5 Stores per Merchant account.

App Credit

  • You will no longer be eligible to earn App Credits if: (i) your store is no longer located in Germany, Japan, France, or Italy, (ii) are in violation of these terms, the Shopify TOS, (iii) or change to a Shopify plan that is not eligible for the Promotion.
  • Receiving credits: Credits get issued after your first paid bill. It may take up to 5 days from your first bill for the App Credits to be issued. Shopify will send an email (the “Notification Email”) notifying you when the App Credits have been issued. Merchants may receive a maximum of 1 Promotion Credit per Store, up to 5 Stores per Merchant account.
  • Redemption: App Credits may be applied to any Eligible App Transactions after the date of the Notification Email. App purchases are priced in USD, and any existing App Credits will be converted from local currency to USD at the time of purchase. App Credit will not be retroactively applied to Eligible App Transactions purchased and paid for before the date of the Notification Email. App Credits will be reflected in your bill for the period in which the Eligible App Transactions occur. “Eligible App Transactions” include only app charges that are processed through the Shopify invoicing system, and do not include any app charges by partners processed outside of the Shopify invoicing system.
  • Expiration or termination: App Credit expires after 6 months. However, if you cancel your Merchant account or store, or if your account is “frozen” by Shopify (for example, for potential Shopify TOS violations), App Credit expires after 60 days.
  • Amounts may vary: App Credits awarded may vary depending on your Store’s geographic location and the applicable currency exchange rate of when the App Credit is issued.
  • Non-Transferable, non-refundable: App Credits are non-transferable, not valid for cash or cash equivalent, may not be combined with other offers, and must be used in the currency in which they were received. Payments made using App Credits are non-refundable.
  • Taxes and liability: You are responsible for any tax liability, if any, resulting from earning App Credit.

Miscellaneous

  • Changes: Determinations of eligibility for this offer and amounts awarded determined by Shopify in its sole discretion. Shopify reserves the right to any remedy, including cancellation of your account or credits, if fraud, tampering, technical errors, or violations of Shopify’s TOS are suspected. Shopify reserves the right to cancel or change the Promotion or these terms at any time in its sole discretion.
  • Notice: Any notice provided by us with respect to these terms will be deemed provided the day it is posted on our website.
  • Severability: If any provision in these terms is deemed invalid, void, or unenforceable, such provision (or the part of it that is making it invalid, void, or unenforceable) will be struck and not affect the validity of and enforceability of the remaining provisions.
