What are the key factors that have helped your store be successful?

My background in Business Management and Operations and my ridiculous over-analytical skills helped me in researching to find out not only about who our customers are and what they want but also how we could do things better than other online retailers were doing them.

We are very cautious with our advertising budget and are quick to make changes when we see what does and does not work for us. We decided from day 1 that our customer service would set us apart from the pack. When we get emails and Facebook posts like "I just ordered an hour ago and you already shipped my order, CCB rocks" we know we are doing things right! When customers call and ask us how things fit, of course we're in the warehouse trying them on and helping them with their size. We are in the customer service business, we want everyone to look and feel great wearing CCB and we want them to know that we are passionate about what we do.

What are your top recommendations for new store owners?

The best advice I have is say no to debt! We have never taken on any debt or investors and have worked off our incoming sales as we grew. You have to think smarter and work harder than anyone else is willing to. You are in control of your own destiny, whether you succeed or fail, the buck stops with you.

My husband Chad was diagnosed with cancer just a few months after we launched CCB (which was also our first $100,000.00 month). We both worked full time, had 2 little boys at home and he was fighting for his life. We never stopped. We knew CCB was going to be a success and we didn't let anything get in our way. 16-hour-days, a ton of caffeine, determination and faith, and we sold over 1 million dollars before we were 1 year old. It's okay to have huge dreams as long as you're willing to pray big and work hard to achieve those dreams.

Any Closing Remarks?

Today, Chad is officially 12-months cancer-free and we will hit our 1st multi-million dollar year in 2014! We've moved to a larger warehouse, hired more employees, have been able to give back thousands of dollars to causes very dear to us, and while the days are still long and the caffeine is still flowing, we absolutely love what we do! Did I mention we are still less than 2-years-old? Taking the leap and building that Shopify store at midnight just a few days before Black Friday 2012 has been the best decision we've made! I'm running my own business with my husband, I get to shop and buy clothes for a living, what's not to love?
