How did you earn your first sales? Which channels are now generating the most traffic and sales for you?
We originally opened a shop on Etsy where we began to form a great fanbase. While it was a great leaping-off point, we had very little control over the overall customer experience and after a year of steady growth, we found ourselves a happy new home with Shopify.
Launching our own website and using the incredible tools available to us via Shopify helped us to nearly triple sales in the first year alone!
Tell us about the back-end of your business. What tools and apps do you use to run your store? How do you handle shipping and fulfillment?
We're currently using a great combination of Shopify, Stitch Labs and ShipStation. This simplifies the entire process of getting orders out the door! It also gives us excellent control over inventory management and reports -- everything is seamlessly updated across all 3 channels!
What are your top recommendations for new ecommerce entrepreneurs?
Start slow and make an effort to learn as much as possible as you grow! Always strive to work smarter not harder, efficiency is everything in ecommerce. We've had days when a huge blogger might feature our brand which can result in more than 10x our typical daily average of orders. Having a game plan in place can help you take advantage of unique opportunities like this!
