Our business is founded on the reality that retail stores today survive on 60 to 75 percent margins which make getting quality product to the consumer via traditional retail channels almost impossible.
Word of mouth with local cyclists and cycling clubs throughout Europe have been the foundation of what we intend to be a very large and successful online retail enterprise specializing in finding high quality sporting goods and more which are not easily accessible through traditional retail.
How did you earn your first sales? Which channels are now generating the most traffic and sales for you?
We built our site in two days and uploaded over 120 products in about 4 minutes, it took a little longer for the images, sales did not come straight away but soon started to come from various locations around the world.
The bulk of our sales come from opportunities which have come from the happy Shopify customers who have been quick to recommend us to friends and family and even to local business which came as quite a surprise.
Tell us about the back-end of your business. What tools and apps do you use to run your store? How do you handle shipping and fulfillment?
I have a much larger retail enterprise supplying ranges to many of the largest Australian retailers, and as such I have over 100 factories with whom I am involved with manufacturing stocks, The first factory we chose to seed our Shopify store was a factory who had the most extreme quality and performance sport lighting and I personally was determined to make these products available to sporting enthusiasts like myself. This factory and others we choose have very strong quality control measures and are extremely competent at shipping orders quickly and accurately to customers at the point of order.
