Introduce your business and tell us your story: How did you decide on what to sell, and how did you source your products?
We identified a gap in the market for affordable premium activewear. Activewear that could be worn to the gym, but also stylish enough to wear out on the street. We custom design each product from the ground up here in the UK. My wife designer the womens range and I created the mens, it was a great collaboration of creativity to create the entire 42 piece range. The products we manufacture in China.
How did you earn your first sales? Which channels are now generating the most traffic and sales for you?
We exhibited our brand at a consumer expo in the UK and were amazed by the reaction. We received in excess of 1000 sales in just 3 days! The rest we built up by driving brand awareness via Instagram content and influencers to spread the word and drive sales. Currently the biggest sales have been via exhibitions and pop ups. We are growing the online customer base organically so we pushing the online side of the business which will be our main focus to build and drive online sales.
Tell us about the back-end of your business. What tools and apps do you use to run your store? How do you handle shipping and fulfillment?
We use a variety of apps, such as the auto currency converter which has helped to create confidence in overseas buyers and grow sales. The better coupon app is a great way to entice new customers with offers like free shipping and first buy promos. We outsource our fulfilment as we have a great setup. This allows us as a business to really focus on driving marketing campaigns, sales, and brand PR.
What are your top recommendations for new store owners?
To build a business around something that you love and have a passion for. If you work on something that you have a passion for rather than focusing on the money you can earn is one of the most important factors in making your business a success.
